SIAS

The Children and Families Act 2014 says that all local authorities must provide information advice and support about SEN or disabilities, including matters realting to health and social care, for children, young people and their parents. The SEND Code of Practice says that this information, advice and support should be impartial and provided at arms length from the local authority and Clinical Commissioning Groups.

SIAS are the SEND information advice and support service for Swindon Borough Council. Our impartiality means we do not favour one side over another, we treat all parties respectfully and we do not have a vested interest in the outcome of any discussions. This means that is not our place to make judgements or decisions, we will explain your options and support you to make a decision. We can also support you to express your views and wishes.
