Who We Are and What We Do
Who we are
SIAS is a small team of three people. We are all passionate about speical educational needs, and are trained to give you accurate, useful and relevant information and advice to empower you to make decisions about your education or the education of children or young people you have responsibility for.
Freyr Bendleton
I joined the SEND information, advice and support service in 2019. I have a background as a primary school teacher and qualified Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO). I am committed to participation and inclusion, so that all children and young people are fully involved in the decisions that affect them.
Outside of work I love baking (and eating my bakes), reading and walking my two spaniels.
Jeanette Gould
I have been a member of the SEND information, advice and support service since 2005. I specialised in admission through the three-year choice adviser programme, and I have a lot of experience around transitions. I am passionate about every child reaching their potential and having the same opportunities to succeed regardless of their needs.
Outside of work I love spending time with my family (especially my granddaughters), running and cats.
Jane Levett
I joined the SEND Information, Advice and Support service in 2020. I have first-hand experience of local SEND processes, and I am dedicated to making sure that families have the right information at the right time so that they can make informed decisions.
Outside of work I love swimming, paddle boarding and illustration.
We work as a team, so when we are giving information, advice and support you get the benefit of all of our experience.
